Saying goodbye.

Saying farewell to Yellowcard the other night was a little emotional. And I'm not sure if it
was because my anxiety and stress levels were off the chart or if it was because it was the
first time leaving a gig knowing it would be the last seeing said band.

It always seems that when I see Yellowcard alone though my travel plans turn into a
disaster. First getting stuck in a random part of Auckland for an hour in 1degrees weather.
This time all my busses were late/didn't show. And the train was delayed and then didn't
end up going to my destination due to said delays.
It's like the world just doesn't want me to see Yellowcard.

Saying goodbye was a little odd; Ive seen Yellowcard quite a few times to feel lucky enough
to experience all sides of them. Natural; acoustic; and last show.
I know a few acts would half ass a last show, they've sold it out. It's fine they're focused on
the end and I get that.

But Yellowcard passed all expectations, putting on a two hour show filled with old and new
songs. Playing songs I'd always longed to hear and sung my little heart out too. They focused
on their music. Chose there setlist carefully, and when trying to thank the crowd for being
there it was clear how much they would be missed, from old to new generations Yellowcard
have succeeded what little bands do. They don't define there music by age, they have been
around long enough to know that there will always be new fans jumping on the wagon and
that maybe the old might not have listened to any album after 2006 release of Ocean
avenue. But all is accepted at there rock show.

Now I made a video on the 10year annniversary tour of Ocean Avenue about how
Yellowcard have affected my whole music genre/tastes. I will forever be thankful for them
for that. And for giving me opportunities to see them multiple times and love there
beautiful faces.

‘The band with the violin’ will always be a band that has a special place in my heart.
Shawn, Ryan, Ryan and josh.
Thank you.
For reminding me why I have an anchor tattoo behind my ear(ill write about this soon.)
