Christmas traditions.

Id never had any Christmas traditions in my life, we’d always play games, and open presents together. Standard things. But no traditions, so 5years ago I bought a gingerbread house making kit, and every year since I have done the same.

Bought a kit, made a house, and felt like Christmas. I’ve done it alone, and with others around me, I invited my cousin first, then my cousin and my boyfriend, and this year it was just me and my boyfriend. With other people being involved it turns into a slight competition. Especially when you’re with competitive people. But it’s always been my favourite and most simple Christmas activity and one that I want to keep as a tradition in my life for a long time.

I love the familys with traditions, church, meals, baking, little things that to others seem like nothing but to them it makes Christmas. I’d always been sad that I never had a tradition in my family, but I soon realised it’s never too late to create traditions. Who says in 5 years I won’t have created more?
